Leadership and Board

Shaye Moris’ passion for charitable work stemmed from parents who taught her the value of helping others. She joined Second Harvest in 1998 and has dedicated her career to ensuring equitable and dignified access to food for families, children and seniors throughout the Northland.

“I often tell my children, ‘do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.’ I am passionate about our challenge to end hunger in the Northland. I think it will require a shift, from a paternalistic, ‘we know best’ mindset to one that learns from and with our neighbors experiencing hunger. Only then will we be able to align the right resources, partners, and support for a hunger-free Northland.”

Shaye has served on numerous boards including the Northland Foundation, University of WI-Superior Foundation, Feeding Wisconsin and Hunger Solutions Minnesota. When not at work she enjoys travel with her husband Mike, two children Mason and Olivia. She also enjoys running, writing and the outdoors.

Ashley Hall joined Second Harvest Northland (SHN) in September 2023. She is responsible for developing and implementing our strategy to engage neighbors and a diverse coalition of agency and community partners to achieve our mission. In her role she oversees our agency and community partnerships (food shelves, on-site meal programs, tribal organizations) and direct service programs. Prior to joining SHN, Ashley was the Executive Director of Koochiching County Food Access in International Falls, MN.

Trisha Zimmerman joined Second Harvest Northland (SHN) in March 2024.  She previously served as Development Director for our west location for nearly 7 years.  She is responsible for developing and implementing our comprehensive fundraising and marketing strategy and annual plan to achieve our mission.  In her role she oversees our partnerships with corporations, foundations, social/religious organizations and individuals as well as manages our major and planned gifts program, special fundraising events and campaigns.  Prior to joining SHN, Trisha was the Executive Director of Elder Circle in Grand Rapids, MN.
