WE'RE IN THIS TOGETHER, GRATEFUL NEIGHBORS - Second Harvest Northland

Our recent “Have a Heart, Help a Neighbor” event put a spotlight on how your support is impacting neighbors hit especially hard by the economy, higher cost of gas and home heating. Our compassionate Program Director, Dan Wilson, shares his experience at our programs.

“We’ve seen people that have never accessed food shelves coming in,” he shares. “You can really tell the thankfulness of people coming in for the first time. They’re a little nervous about how they can access food and how it works. When you tell them how easy it is, sometimes they tear up, then slow down and take a breath. We say ‘thanks for being here, we’re going to get you food, you’re going to be okay, we’re in this together.'”

We’re so grateful for your support which is helping neighbors this holiday season and throughout the year. As Dan shares, “Hunger has no end date. Help is needed all year long.”
