For more than a century, Erickson Orchard and Country Store in Bayfield, Wisconsin, has been growing fresh apples for Northland families. Today, fourth-generation orchardist Fred Erickson continues his family’s tradition of sharing that abundance with others.
“My family and I have been blessed to have this place to grow apples, and I want to use that to bless someone else,” Fred shares. “Giving has always been part of who we are. Donating to Second Harvest allows us to support neighbors and be part of the mission to end hunger together.”
Each fall, Fred partners with Second Harvest Northland to donate excess apples from the orchard. What might otherwise go unpicked becomes fresh, nutritious food for children, families, and seniors across the Northland.
